Some of the 40lb of potatoes we turned into "Gourmet Potatoes" for dinners later this week/month/year?

December 29
Mongoes (also known as Mung beans) was on the menu for dinner last night.
I have ALWAYS hated these....and I am not sure why. My mother had a rule to deal with hate foods. You got one hate-food, and when it was served you had to eat two bites of it, and that was all. My two older siblings picked squash and sayote (also known as chayote), but I hated mongoes!!
It is interesting to note that both these items were veggies....

A Picture A Day....or more
Today, I resolved to use the camera at least once every day....for a year.
Yes, that is right, for one year. I do not promise to blog every day of the year, but I will post-post (lol) the pictures to their taken-date. I will probably update my Facebook page sooner than the blog. It is quicker, really it is! More on that below.
#1: my great stuff!
Item 1: A pair of crocheted "car" gloves. Yes, they are going in the car so that I can keep my hands functioning while the car gets warm.
Item 2: a 23-in-1 Memory Card reader. 4 slots to read (every?) SD and Memory card out there. Around 3 inches long and a DARLING shade of blue... (Guess how much it cost me!! Maybe you'll win a prize!?)
#2: Some great photos:
Of a darling little boy with new gloves and hat...
And #3: The Picture-of-the-day
If you would like semi-constant updates on cameras and life, you could "Fan" me on Facebook!

Sight & Sound
Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster PA is my #1 favorite place to go in the whole United States!!! It has top quality drama and I love the original (most of the time) music and themes.
If you ever get to see their beautiful building (and I LOVE their bathrooms!!) and even more stellar plays, you will never forget it!!
I had intended to get a lot of pictures...but sometimes other people get in our way!!!
I was able to get my handsome little brother wearing a suit!!!
And my little sister
And even one of me that my little sister took! We were in a hurry, so the picture is blurry! *apologies to all

Eastern Continental Divide--Family Trip
s
Our family recently took a biking trip out to the Eastern Continental Divide
My little sister insisted on taking "Goldie", her 3 foot long Golden Retriever with her in her backpack. Goldie also served the useful function of carrying her hoodie in case it or she got cold.

My littlest brother crawled all over this little gully trying to get flowers.
He finally found one hear enough, and then had to struggle to pick it!
Then, he found this fence.....
And did what all little boys do....
He climbed as high as he could!!!!!

Peach Picking
Yesterday we went peach picking!!
My mother found an add on Craigslist for free peaches. The people who owned the trees had picked off all they wanted to use and were offering the now speedily rotting fruit to anyone who could use it!
We packed up some bags and boxes and headed out!
My brother--the monkey!
The more dexterous ones climbed up for the tippy-top-of-the-tree pickings
Instead of picking up peaches, the younger ones began pelting eachother!!!
And my view of the peaches :)
We did, however make quite a few quarts of delicious jam to eat and give to friends!!!!!!

"Official" photo Shoot
4-13 was a cloudy, dismal, and rather unappealing day.

Our brothers were engaged in a volleyball tournament at Messiah College, and I brought my camera. I had the greatest idea of doing an official "photo shoot" with my dearest friend. I thought I had told her about this, but apparently she didn't get the phone message. Despite inconsistent drizzle, we managed to have a good time.

At first, she was rather stiff and wary. Having a camera in your face is not exactly the most authentic or natural setting.
As we walked and wandered over the campus, she began getting ideas, and warming up to my style, and liking the results. ;)
Then, the sun came peeking through the fog and clouds, and things began to happen!

I think every photographer should listen to the subject's ideas. Because more likely than not, the subject will be more natural in their idea than when working on an idea of the photographer's.
Say "Roarrrrrrr!!!"
"It's a stick!!" "I know it's a stick!" "So what should we do with it?" "Why don't you hug it?" (awesome randomness!!!!)
My absolute favoritest!!!!!
Musing on the covered bridge

And so ended the best photo shoot ever!! <3 you Sarah!
