December 29

Mongoes (also known as Mung beans) was on the menu for dinner last night.

I have ALWAYS hated these....and I am not sure why. My mother had a rule to deal with hate foods. You got one hate-food, and when it was served you had to eat two bites of it, and that was all. My two older siblings picked squash and sayote (also known as chayote), but I hated mongoes!!

It is interesting to note that both these items were veggies....

December 25:

I am such a klutz!!! My family usually wakes up early on December 25th, and we go singing Carols at local Hospitals for people who were not able to make it home for the holidays. However, this year, as my mom was calling around and trying to arrange things....every single hospital in the area said that no one under 18 was allowed in the hospital to visit. Why? The H1N1 supposed danger. Whatever.
SO, my mom called rescue missions, and other places, until we received positive feedback from New Life For Girls, which is around the corner and down a couple miles from us.
On our way out (to go away) I saw the most lovely picture. A foot of snow at the bottom of some still-green and slender and graceful bamboo that was growing along the edge of the road. I nearly screamed when I realized that I HAD NOT BROUGHT THE CAMERA!!!!
That is a cell-camera picture, which is not only miserable but miniscule as well. It is up here as punishment. I have sinned!
And this is the picture-of-the-day.
:) hope you like it!

A Picture A Day....or more

Today, I resolved to use the camera at least once every day....for a year.

Yes, that is right, for one year. I do not promise to blog every day of the year, but I will post-post (lol) the pictures to their taken-date. I will probably update my Facebook page sooner than the blog. It is quicker, really it is! More on that below.

#1: my great stuff!
Item 1: A pair of crocheted "car" gloves. Yes, they are going in the car so that I can keep my hands functioning while the car gets warm.
Item 2: a 23-in-1 Memory Card reader. 4 slots to read (every?) SD and Memory card out there. Around 3 inches long and a DARLING shade of blue... (Guess how much it cost me!! Maybe you'll win a prize!?)
#2: Some great photos:Of a darling little boy with new gloves and hat...
And #3: The Picture-of-the-dayIf you would like semi-constant updates on cameras and life, you could "Fan" me on Facebook!

Winter/Fall Photoshoot

On a grey and cloudy afternoon we met at the park.As we shot pictures, the late afternoon turned into evening....Soon, it was dark enough to make me have to squint. My dear camera just kept on clicking away, carefully recording the information I asked it to. It is a good sport. With a white outfit for fall, and a red one for winter, and a Retro one just for fun, we had a blast!!I was into taking shoe pictures.....Then, how much better than to pair Retro with Mustang?Awesome!!!

A Comedy of Errors

I love Drama. I know I said that before, but I think I should say it again! If I can't be in a play I would love to go see one!!Dromio of Syracuse hiding from Adrianna
Antipholus of Ephesus trying to figure out why he is not being let into his own house to dine...Dromio and Antipholus of E being bound and dragged off as madmen...
"The rope, master, that you sent me for!"
"A rope? I sent you for GOLD!"

They look alike! The whole family together again!

The cute couple :)

So not the Drama!

I love drama. When I was little they always said I was the Drama Queen of the family. I have had opportunities to act a couple time here in the States now that I am older and they have all been special to me. I love the rush I get when it is crunch time. I love dashing about stage pretending to be angry or sad.
The funny part is that I always get cast as an old lady. Ok, so in one play I was a "teen", but every other one I have been an old lady!!!
Here is Old Babushka:

Sight & Sound

Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster PA is my #1 favorite place to go in the whole United States!!! It has top quality drama and I love the original (most of the time) music and themes.
If you ever get to see their beautiful building (and I LOVE their bathrooms!!) and even more stellar plays, you will never forget it!!

I had intended to get a lot of pictures...but sometimes other people get in our way!!!
I was able to get my handsome little brother wearing a suit!!!And my little sister
And even one of me that my little sister took! We were in a hurry, so the picture is blurry! *apologies to all

Concrete Jungles

I grew up in the tropics, and I have begun to employ the term "concrete jungle" to such intersections of the highway that twist and divide with frightening dexterity....However, I found that these pictures also did justice to the term.(PS--they are from out trip to the Eastern Continental Divide)

Eastern Continental Divide--Family Trip

s

Our family recently took a biking trip out to the Eastern Continental Divide
My little sister insisted on taking "Goldie", her 3 foot long Golden Retriever with her in her backpack. Goldie also served the useful function of carrying her hoodie in case it or she got cold.

My littlest brother crawled all over this little gully trying to get flowers.
He finally found one hear enough, and then had to struggle to pick it!
Then, he found this fence.....
And did what all little boys do....He climbed as high as he could!!!!!
